I Need THAT Job…
Sign me up. Really. Where can I find a job making $10 Mill large per year, totally suck at it and get paid another $30 mill to just leave? I know I can do it. I just need an opportunity, a chance to prove myself.
The Knicks “relieved” Larry Brown of his coaching duties, naming Isiah Thomas as his replacment. This should have happened a year ago. Thomas, easily the worst Executive in the history of the NBA, has created a mess in NY. He should have been placed in charge of this garbage for this season. Instead, they courted Larry Brown out of Detroit where he was winning titles, to NY where he was getting blasted by fans, the media and his own players.

Brown has a way about him, a method to his “madness”. He breaks his team down, them builds them back up. Sometimes, that breakdown happens in marathon practice sessions, sometimes it happens by benching players, and then it can happen in the media. That works in Detroit. It works in San Antonio, at UCLA or Kansas. It doesn’t work in New York. Results are the only thing that matters. James Dolan, owner of this Titanic of an NBA team, made no bones about the fact he detested the way Larry handled matters. In New York you take ownership, you take responsibility, you don’t pass the buck. Dolan should have known better. Larry has done this everywhere he has gone. This time, though he had a bad mix of over-priced veterans who believe they are better than they actually are, and are more worried about stats than W’s.
So now Isiah gets to cook with the ingredients he has purchased. Already without their lotter-pick this year(Chicago), the Knick have few pieces and will drafting i a position usually reserved for playoff teams. There appears to be little end in sight, no light at the end of the tunnel, and you have to figure that this is Isiah’s last chance before he finally gets the “credit” he deserves for creating this mess.
As for LB, surely he will be back. Probably on the West Coast somewhere where the scrutiny is less. Where ever he ends up, though, he will be 30 Million dollars richer, for doing nothing but stinking up the NBA. I need that job.
